The Cardboard Boat Regatta is one of the most anticipated events in Southern Warren County, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever!
Whether you're part of a work team, church group, school class, scout troop, or simply gathering with friends and family, this is your chance to build, race, and make memories. Anyone aged 8 or older (as of August 16, 2025) can join in the fun!
Armed with creativity, some cardboard, duct tape, and contact cement, you'll design and construct a boat that you and your crew will actually race across the waters of Oeder’s Lake. Yes, these handmade boats are real, and they float (mostly)!
Compete head-to-head in thrilling races as heat after heat determines who will sail to victory. Don’t miss out on this unique adventure—start building your team and your boat today!
Hero’s Race
The Hero’s Race is an annual tradition dedicated to honoring our veterans, police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel. This exclusive race allows these everyday heroes to showcase their skills and compete for the coveted trophy and ultimate bragging rights. Each year’s winner is invited back to defend their title in the following year’s race.
Crash and Sink Derby
For many, the day’s highlight is the thrilling Crash and Sink Derby finale! In this exciting showdown, anything still afloat—or even partially afloat—is launched back into the water for a winner-takes-all, last-one-to-sink contest. Participants, young and old, splash, swim, and work boat-to-boat to sink their competitors. By the end, it’s all in good fun as everyone ends up in the water!
Additional Activities
The event offers something for everyone! Enjoy delicious food from a variety of vendors, while kids have a blast with bounce houses and fun crafts provided by our generous sponsors. It’s a day of family-friendly entertainment and community celebration!
